Switching to clean makeup is not the easiest task. So, when I find a clean foundation that works and is clean I stick to it and share it with everyone.

Lately, I’ve been loving my new foundation by Ilia Beauty, a clean beauty brand powered by skincare. By this I mean, it’s designed with active skincare ingredients that shield skin from environmental stressors.

In this foundation you will find:

  • Aloe that helps soothe irritations and tame redness
  • Plant-based squalane that helps balance skin and improves elasticity
  • Mastic a resin from a tree that grows on the Greek island of Chios to help mattify and refine skin throughout the day

ILIA’s True Skin Serum Foundation is a weightless foundation that delivers buildable, light to medium coverage with a velvety finish. In addition to aloe leaf, it contains rosehip, jojoba, and marula oils to soothe irritations and tame redness, plump fine lines, and ensure the formula effortlessly melts into the skin. The foundation also blurs imperfections and minimizes pores, leaving your skin looking like skin. It’s so lightweight!

The application is super easy. You just pump 1-2 pumps to your hand and apply it with your fingers, starting at the center of the face and working your way outwards. At first, I do notice a white cast, which I am not a big fan of. But, after a few minutes, it starts oxidizing and it looks natural. It is a tad expensive ($54), but you really only need a little bit.

Ilia Beauty is dermatologist tested, non-comedogenic, vegan, cruelty-free, and gluten-free.
